StarLeaf Winter 2019 release

The StarLeaf Winter 2019 release is here. We’re bringing you live streaming, improvements from sharing to audio quality, as well as more control and flexibility for administrators. We’ve also added new SIP providers to the VoiceConnect whitelist, enabling more customers to consolidate to StarLeaf for all their meetings and calls.

Live Streaming*

We’ve extended the reach of StarLeaf meetings with Live Streaming. This enables you to extend the use of StarLeaf in your enterprise to include larger meetings of up to 1,000 participants, such as town hall meetings, live broadcasts or annual general meetings (AGMs). Live stream viewers can also join meetings alongside regular Spotlight participants, for example to bring a panel together with a larger audience, in a controlled manner. Anyone can attend a live stream – all they need is the web link. And all live streams are automatically recorded so they can be distributed after the event.

Improved desktop sharing

Windows users: we’re giving you an even better experience when sharing content. It’s easier to see what you’re sharing and to switch between windows or screens – and easier to be sure you’re only sharing what you want to.

Retention policy for recordings

Administrators now have greater control over recording limits. You can choose whether recordings are stored indefinitely or automatically deleted in a timeframe from 1 hour to 10 years.

New SIP providers on VoiceConnect

VoiceConnect brings dial-tone to the StarLeaf meeting room, allowing you to replace your traditional audio conferencing solution and consolidate on a single supplier, with all the associated management and performance benefits. Additions to the supported list in this release include Pure IP (international), Hexanet (France), and TetraVX (US).

Per room meeting privacy

This new feature enables your administrators to set the default meeting privacy in each of your StarLeaf meeting rooms, on a room-by-room basis. You can choose to hide the meeting details and display only the organizer’s name. It’s ideal for organizations with meeting rooms that are shared purpose.

Network resilience

We’ve implemented a raft of new audio enhancements in order to optimize StarLeaf audio for weaker networks. So whether people are connecting from home, the airport or a café, they’ll get the best possible audio.

If you’re a StarLeaf user, you don’t need to do anything to get these features. You’ll be upgraded automatically out of hours – we’ll be in touch with details of when this will happen for your organization.

If you’re not using StarLeaf yet, get in touch with us to find out more and to arrange a demo.

*Live streaming is available as an additional option to organizations with a StarLeaf enterprise meeting subscription.
